It uses standard email transmission protocols to receive emails forwarded by the mail server and conducts security checks on the sender, recipient, subject, body, and attachments of the emails. It performs real-time interception or secure transformation on emails that do not meet the criteria for external distribution.

Secsmart Email Data Leakage Prevention Product, when network accessible, requires the mail server to configure the next hop to direct all outgoing emails to the email data leak prevention client address.
